Hi,hope you had a good weekend.
I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but for all the special cards I make, I still never have a spare birthday card for last minute or when I've forgotten!!
April is a busy month for friends and family birthdays and I covered all the really special ones but needed a couple of general ones.
The challenge last week over at BBTB2 is to use cricut cut balloons and make a birthday card.
I came up with the simplest card ever! I was all set to send it and then decided I would make 4 more to have a set for when needed. I have a friend who chooses a simple design and makes variations for all her friend's birthdays,so always has a card on hand.
I really like how they turned out. I could have made it much easier and quicker by leaving out the embossing, inking and tying twine but although produced en mass I still wanted them to be special.
Recipe
Art Philosophy - card and mat cut at 5"
Create a Critter - balloons cut at 3.5"
Tiny Tags stamp set and assorted twines from My Craft Spot
Distress Inks and 3D foam
I started with pink balloons but then added blue ones so they would be more gender neutral.
I think they will work for some of my son's 11 year old friends as they are a perfect size to add money to!
I do like making unique and individual cards but I think I am going to challenge myself to make a set of cards on a regular basis. I sometimes do them as gifts for other people but not usually for me! I also get bored after the first 2!!
Perhaps another set next month....did I really write that?!! Lol!
There's still time to enter the challenge over at BBTB2.
Do check out the creative DT and entries, lots of fabulous inspiration.
I am also entering this over atPaper Playtime Challenge#72 - Say it with Sentiments - Birthday.
Today is a 'playday' for me in my craft room.
Hope you have a great day too.
Hugs

These are really cute- and the embossing, inking and twine were worth the extra work- they look awesome! :)Amy
ReplyDeleteThese are so awesome, Jayne!! I love the design!! The balloons are so festive and fun...the embossing really makes them stand out (I was going to write "makes them pop" but I didn't think pop was a good term to use for balloons ;) Fabulous as always my friend!! Have a great week :)

ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful "SET" Jayne! I LOVE the look of them all.... and YES you should start making a group set once a month.... especially if you "NEED" Birthday cards all the time! LOL I always make 4 of each card I make..... It's only because someone will see it and LOVE it then someone else would want that same card..... Soooo sets of 4 is where I draw the line..... nooo more, noooo less! LOL :o) Let me know when you get the package I sent you.... I know it said it would take a lot longer than here in the US....
