Good Morning(again!) and today is the launch of the Scraptastic Monday Challenge.

Cindy of  Cindy's Scraptastic Designs has opened her own digi store and is launching weekly  challenges.

Challenge # 1   -  Decorate a gift bag or box with a  Thanksgiving Theme .
                            Must include    - a tag
                                                     - a button
                                                     - stitching

You don't have to use a digi image to take part in the challenge and you aren't limited to using Cindy's digis either(although when you check them out I'm sure you will want too!).It could be a project made with your cricut,so lots of ways to play!

Here is my takeout box....

Cindy's digi - Little Pilgrim Boy
                        - Happy Thanksgiving

My Craft Spot Winter Release Blog Hop

If you are looking for Cindy's Scraptastic Blog Hop click here.

Hi,it's the weekend.Welcome to My Craft Spot Winter Release Stamp Set Blog Hop. You should have come here from my talented friend Kate but if you just happened to be visiting and would like to start from the beginning go to the fabulous Kimberly of My Craft Spot. I have had so much fun playing with these amazing stamp sets this week.

I am so excited to share my special project with you as this is my favourite item I have made this week. It will have pride of place on my dining table at Christmas.

As a child we had  a snowman that was filled with small treats which were opened on Boxing Day tea.
This was my inspiration as each box section including the hat opens to hide a small gift.
Regular friends to my blog will know I have a passion for boxes and 3D items!

Boxes cut at 8.75",8",7" and 6.5" on Blackout feature on P 119 of Tags,Bags,Boxes and More
All white boxes embossed, inked with tumbled glass distress ink and then decorated with Snowtex mixed with white acrylic paint and water and drizzled with Glamour Dust.
I cut a circle again using the blackout feature  at 3.5" as my hat base.
Strong glue to attach them to each other.

I chalked the edges of the hat with white ink. I added Scarlet Red and Olive Green Crinkle ribbon topped with a wooden button and vintage twine all (except the button) from My Craft Spot.
I quilled a carrot nose from orange card and added black gems for eyes and mouth.

His scarf is made by plaiting Vintage Vanilla,Olive Green and Scarlet Red Crinkle ribbon together and I think it turned out so pretty.

I added buttons tied with twine and stamped the fabulous sentiment from Winter Wonderland on to some brown cardstock which I embossed and inked. I was originally going to hang this from his arms but decided against it.

Mr Snowman's twiggy arms are made from grungeboard(for strength) from Tim Holtz twig die.
Inked with vintage photo and walnut stain distress ink and then given the snow treatment.

The lovely Kimberly has given each DT member a set of her wonderful stamps to give away as blog hop candy,my set is Winter Wonderland,so to be in for a chance to win,be a follower and leave me a comment and a way to contact you. I love this set and know you will too. All the stamp sets go on sale today over at My Craft Spot.
Winners will be announced Tuesday.

Your next stop on the list is the creative Aymee. Here is the hop list in case you get lost.

My Craft Spot - Day 4

Happy Thursday! Hope you are having a great week.Today we are sneaky peeking Merry Christmas. I decided to make a mini home decor item.

It has ribbon to hang on a wall/tree. When we are visiting friends and family I always like to take a little something extra and it's small enough for most people to find room for!

Instructions

I took a blank 3.5 x 2.5 canvas  and painted with cream acrylic paint.Heat blasted(yes I am impatient!). Then used Willow and Lemonade Adirondack acrylic paint dabbers and heat blasted again.
I then added Distress Ink in Shabby Shutters,Fired Brick and Brushed Corduroy. Then dusted with Perfect Pearls Heirloom Gold.

I inked up my stamp with black archival ink and laid it down on my worktop and took my canvas to it.
Then added some stars, also from this stamp set. When dried I coloured them with yellow acrylic paint and added Glamour Dust.

To make the ribbon rose(pretend poinsetia in my world!lol),I used a scrap circle of card and covered with adhesive.I scrunched some yellow crinkle ribbon for the centre and then twisted cranberry crinkle ribbon around it.I then cut away the extra card and secured the end with glue and sprinkled the flower with Glamour Dust.
Added Olive Green crinkle ribbon at the bottom with a ruffle and Cream to hang it with.
All the ribbons are from My Craft Spot.

Kimberly has some lovely blog candy for you again today. It is the Mistletoe Seam Binding set and all you have to do is check out all the amazing projects and leave her a comment over at My Craft Spot.

The final sneaky peek of Kimberly's gorgeous winter stamp sets tomorrow and then we have a fabulous blog hop on Saturday with a chance to win one of the new sets at each hop on the way.

Don't forget Cindy of Cindy's Scraptastic Designs is starting a new challenge on her blog on Monday called Scraptastic Mondays. To celebrate we are having a blog hop  tomorrow from 7pm EST. Cindy is offering some fabulous blog candy .
I do hope you can join  both blog hops as you won't be disappointed.

Have a fabulous day.

Hugs
